Winter in Barrington can give you that warming feeling. The first snow of the season is usually a dusting, just like we got overnight. While for many it signals the start of a cold and tough driving season, it also makes you think of real fireplaces, hot chocolate, building snowmen with the kids and of course Christmas.
If you like taking photos like I do, a white covering makes our area very pretty and hides the dying grass and shrubs, coating them with crisp clean winter white. Winter is my favorite season, even though I'll have to shovel the path and snow blow the drive later on.

I guess it's that time of the year for snow....it finally got cold here in Delaware. Last week it was int he 60s all week and now this morning it was low 30s. I was spoiled for a while so I can't complain.

Reminds me why I moved south.
We had our first snow on October 28th... here on Eastern Long Island - before our first frost. That was followed by some spectacular weeks in the 60s & a few days in the 70s... spoiled. Yesterday was really our first night to dip below freezing since October. Unusually warm weather here on the East Coast.
I thought you got snow earlier than we do . We had a major snow storm in October. I would have preferred a dusting .
Our winter is a bit of a late starter this year, actually the same as last year. We've had some pretty warm temps during November.
Yes this is my front yard. Barrington is mostly properties on acreage and I have 2 acres. We had the deer track through overnight, can see the tracks :)
Hi Corinne. Thanks for sharing a beautiful picture of winter in Barrington. I agree with you, at times like this, hot chocolate, fireplace, and spending time with the kids is just perfect. Thanks for sharing.
